What we collect when you contact us, and what we do with it.
This notice covers this website. It lists every field the enquiry form records, including the ones your browser sends without being asked.
This page is not final.
The description of what we collect and why is accurate and taken from the running system. Passages marked [PENDING LEGAL REVIEW] are company and legal facts that have not been supplied yet — they are shown as gaps rather than filled with plausible text.
What we collect when you contact us
The enquiry form is the only place this site collects personal data. It stores exactly the following.
- What you type
- Your name, work email, firm name, and — where you choose to give them — phone number, firm size, practice areas, timeline, and your message.
- What your browser sends
- Your IP address and browser user-agent string, recorded with the enquiry. We list these because they are personal data even though the form does not ask you for them.
- How you arrived
- The referring page, the page you landed on, and any campaign tags in the link you followed (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign). This tells us which of our own pages led to an enquiry.
Why we hold it
One purpose, and it is the one you submitted the form for.
- To reply to you
- We use your enquiry to respond, arrange a conversation, and answer what you asked. A member of staff reads it.
- To understand which pages work
- The arrival details above are used in aggregate to see which parts of this site lead to enquiries. They are not used to build a profile of you.
- What we do not do
- We do not sell enquiry data, we do not share it with advertising networks, and submitting the form does not subscribe you to marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are retained while the conversation is live and for a limited period afterwards.
- Retention
- [PENDING LEGAL REVIEW: the retention period for enquiries that do not become customers. The product has no automated deletion for this table, so whatever period is chosen needs a sweep behind it before this sentence is true.]
- Deletion on request
- You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time. We act on it unless we are required to keep a record for a specific legal reason, in which case we will tell you which.
Your rights over it
If you are in the UK, EU, or a US state with a comparable law, these apply to you by right. We extend them to everyone who contacts us.
- Access
- Ask what we hold about you, and we will provide it in a readable, portable form.
- Correction
- Ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
- Erasure
- Ask us to delete it. Where a legal obligation requires us to keep a specific record, we will say so rather than quietly refuse.
- How to ask
- [PENDING LEGAL REVIEW: the monitored address or route for privacy requests, and the response window the business commits to. Not recorded anywhere in this codebase.]
If your firm is a customer
This notice covers this website. Data inside the product is a different relationship.
- Your firm controls its own records
- For matter, client, and document data held in Law Grasp, your firm is the controller and we act on its instructions. Requests about that data go to your firm, which has tools in the product to answer them.
- Client-portal users
- If you sign in to a client portal, the firm that invited you decides what you can see and how long your records are kept.
Who is responsible
Law Grasp is operated by EthosSoft LLC, trading as Law Grasp. [PENDING LEGAL REVIEW: the registered address, and — where required — the EU/UK representative and lead supervisory authority. Not recorded in this codebase; must be supplied by the business.]
